Kallows’ Commitment to Data Privacy Protection

Protecting the privacy and security of your personal data is extremely important to Kallows; as a result, we comply with applicable laws on data privacy protection and data security. This policy will help you understand what data Kallows may collect, how we use and safeguard that data, and with whom it may be shared.

Personal Data

Through our Web sites and Applications, Kallows will not collect any personal data about you (such as your name, address, telephone number or e-mail address), unless you either voluntarily choose to provide us with it, provide your consent, or unless otherwise permitted by applicable laws and regulations for the protection of your personal data. For example, you may provide your personal identifying information while registering on the website or in an app, filling out a survey, filling in the contact form, etc.

Purpose of Using Personal Data

When you provide us with personal data, it is usually used to respond to your enquiry, process your order, or provide you access to information or special offers. Specifically, for support of our customer relationship with you, the data may be used as follows:

  • We (or an approved third party) may use personal data to contact you about a Kallows product or service in support of your business/practice needs, or to conduct surveys to better understand our customers’ needs.

Kallows will only collect, use, or distribute/disclose personal data supplied by you (through our Web sites or Applications) but only for the purpose(s) disclosed to you, with some exceptions:

  • When your personal data is necessary to prepare, negotiate or perform a contract with you, or to preserve or establish a legal defense or claim.
  • When your personal data is required to be disclosed by law or the competent judicial or governmental authorities, or is otherwise required to prevent fraud, security breaches, or other illegal activities.
  • Also, the personal data may be used for any additional purpose that is directly related to the original purpose for collecting the personal data.

Non-Personal Data – Usage Information

While utilizing our Web site or Applications your non-personal usage data may be saved. The usage data may be your communications data (for example, your IP address) or utilization data (e.g. information on server/services access) are technically generated and could potentially relate to personal data. The collection, processing, dissemination and use of your usage data (communications or utilization data) will occur and will be performed in accordance with the applicable data privacy protection legal framework. The usage data may also include your number of visits, average time spent on the site, pages visited, internet browser type, your mobile or PC’s operating system, and the referrer domain name of the prior Web site from which you came. Non-Personal Data – Cookies

We may store some data on your computer/mobile device in the form of a small file called a “cookie” (in a designated folder as per your browser’s configuration). The cookie allows us to automatically recognize you and your PC next time you visit. Cookies, among other things, allow our Web site to better match your interests or to allow you to remain logged in for longer. If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

User Provided Public Data – Comments, Images, Articles/Blogs

When visitors leave comments, reviews, media (e.g. images),  articles or blog posts on the site (“content”) then we collect the data shown in the form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your content, data is available for public viewing on the website. If you have a profile picture then it may be visible to the public in the context of your content. If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

How long we retain your data

If you leave public content, then the content and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is especially important when comments or blogs are posted, so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

To protect your personal data from unlawful or accidental destruction, alteration or loss, and from unauthorized access or disclosure, Kallows uses organizational and technical security procedures.
